Origin: A recent urban interior trend that makes houseplants central to the design.

Urban jungle is a trend of filling city homes with plants, letting large-leaf, trailing and hanging varieties take the lead. Furniture tends to be simple, with wood, rattan, ceramics and earthy tones that let the green stand out. The goal is to create a relaxed, nature-close feel amid a busy city.

In Vietnam, easy tropical plants such as pothos, snake plant, monstera and fiddle-leaf fig suit the climate. Place them in bright indirect light and avoid harsh west sun. Humidity keeps potting soil damp and invites fungus, so use pots with drainage, saucers and easy-clean floors. Hanging rails and tiered shelves save space in small apartments.
