Origin: Emerged in 1950s Britain and America and boomed in the 1960s
Pop Art arose in the mid-20th century, drawing on advertising, comics, consumer goods and popular culture. Its hallmarks are bright primary colours, black outlines, dot patterns and enlarged, repeated imagery.
In Vietnamese homes use it as an accent rather than everywhere: a large print, a coloured chair or a dotted feature wall. Choose good-quality prints in moisture-resistant frames, as pictures stuck directly on walls tend to mould during the humid season. A white or black backdrop makes the colour stand out, and furniture should stay simple so the art and colour take the lead.
